hello@spoontip.comAny language the camera can read — the translation model is not limited to a fixed list. You choose the language you want the menu translated into, and SpoonTip can suggest one based on where you are.
The first dish appears in roughly twenty seconds. The full menu keeps filling in behind it, so you are reading long before the scan finishes.
Scanning needs a connection, because the translation runs on a server. Menus you have already scanned stay on your device and open offline.
A shared catalog matched by canonical dish name. If a dish is not in the catalog yet, you get the translation and explanation without a photo rather than a misleading one.
The photo is sent over an encrypted connection for text recognition and translation, and is not retained on our servers afterwards. The translated result is stored on your device only. See the privacy policy for the full detail.
No. The app creates an anonymous identifier on first launch that is not tied to your name, email, or phone number. Signing in is optional.
One menu, however many pages you photograph together. A four-page menu shot in one go is a single scan, not four.
